They're the backbone of our coast. [00:02:26] The smooth and flat and warm ones are the boya I like most. [00:02:32] Boya. [00:02:34] Boya. [00:02:37] When we walk atop the boyar Coral scuttle as we go. [00:02:42] Rock pools reveal their treasures when the tide is low. [00:02:48] Caral Carl the seaweed I call nullah it drapes along the shore Cast upon goyara on days when warden roars Nullah. [00:03:06] Nuala. [00:03:09] The seashells I call coral. There are many different kinds. [00:03:14] Some shells are homes for creatures so I don't take what I find. [00:03:20] Coral. [00:03:23] Coral. [00:03:25] The fish I call jiljit. They swim and dart out of our way their silver scales shining as they move with Warden sway Jiljit. [00:03:39] Jiljit. [00:03:42] Jerankarra are the seagulls. See them soar upon the mar. [00:03:46] Watch out if you're eating Jerankara won't be far. [00:03:52] Jerankara. [00:03:54] Jarankara. [00:03:58] The pelican is boodalang. They're greedy for jiljit. [00:04:03] They scoop them up into their bills that stretch out wide to fit Boodalang. [00:04:10] Boodalang. [00:04:13] The dolphin is Quilena. I like to watch them play. The Jiljit must be wary as their Quilena's favourite prey. [00:04:23] Quilena. [00:04:25] Quilena. [00:04:28] I call the whale Mamong. In certain seasons they swim by they whack their tails and splash their fins to send the water high Marmong. [00:04:41] Mamong. [00:04:44] The Marmong are special in tales of Noongar dreaming We love to see them from the shore Their blue black skin all gleaming I am a Noongar girl and I live by the sea this is Warden country.
